I thought it would be helpful to give you a few facts about fleas and ticks.

1. Fleas can bite and pass on disease to humans.

2. The most common tick-borne diseases are Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Ehrlichiosis. Symptoms of tick-borne diseases include: fever, muscle and joint pain, stiffness, and rashes.

3. A flea can produce 2,000 eggs in its lifetime.

4. Fleas can survive off of pets although they need a host to feed. 95% of flea stages are present in the environment rather than on the pet, year round. This is why you should keep your pet on flea & tick control year round.
   

5. Don’t just treat the infected pet. Pets and their housemates must be treated aggressively to reduce the flea burden to the lowest possible level.
