Osteoarthritis is a problem in which normal smooth cartilage surfaces on joints are significantly worn away. Arthritis and Joint Supplements such as jointmax contain a glucosamine and chondroitin, the building blocks which repair the cartilage surfaces on joints. Glucosamine molecule which reacts with glycosaminoglycan which is critical in the formation and repair of cartilage. Also needed is Chondroitin, the most abundant glycosaminoglycan in cartilage. This molecule is responsible for the resiliency of cartilage.

I thought it would be helpful to give you a few facts about fleas and ticks.

  1. Fleas can bite and pass on disease to humans.

  2. The most common tick-borne diseases are Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Ehrlichiosis. Symptoms of tick-borne diseases include: fever, muscle and joint pain, stiffness, and rashes.

  3. A flea can produce 2,000 eggs in its lifetime.

  4. Fleas can survive off of pets although they need a host to feed. 95% of flea stages are present in the environment rather than on the pet, year round. This is why you should keep your pet on flea & tick control year round.

  5. Don’t just treat the infected pet. Pets and their housemates must be treated aggressively to reduce the flea burden to the lowest possible level.

HP Halloween ShopWhat a better compliment to your pet’s costume than some spook-tacular toys and treats! Thanks to a cool post someone wrote about pet costumes I went to Healthypets.com and not only found the cutest dog costume but some great toys and treats to help include my pet in on the Halloween fun. One toy I immediately fell in love with was the Bungee Pumpkin. This dog toy is so cute! The toy makes the cutest noise, my dog loves it! I was worried about my pet being around all the candy and food hazardous to her health so I decided to buy these amazing dog Halloween treats called Halloween Munchies. They’re great because they come in a handy 12 pack and will allow me to give my dog the food she should be having instead of ones she shouldn’t. The neat part about the treats is that they come in festive Halloween shapes like a witches hat, broom, pumpkin, and bat. I found a lot more cool items like Devil Horns Head Bands, Spooky Tennis Balls, Edible Rawhide Cards and more in their Halloween Shop. I had so much fun shopping I spent over $150! Thanks to HealthyPets.com I’ll be able to include my pet on all the Halloween festivities!

hot dog costumeI can’t believe how quickly the seasons change and the leaves turn color. Summer went by so fast and Halloween is just a couple of weeks away! Last year, when out trick or treating with my kids, we saw lots of dogs joining in on the Halloween festivities. Some people dressed their dogs up in the funniest Halloween costumes! Hot diggity dog costumes, Dogzilla Costumes, Mighty Mutts, Pirate pups and more! My kids got a kick out of it, so this year we are going to dress our dogs up as well. After all they are a part of the family and letting them join in on the festivities is a part of the fun. Hopefully I can order the costumes in time. OMG the scariest thing happened this past weekend. My cousin brought his new dog over, I would say about 3 months old (SUPER CUTE). When I saw him he had this huge pot belly, and I said “oh cute, his belly is so round” my cousin answered and said “yeah, he just ate, his belly is weird, it’s just naturally round and big”. I started researching and found that dogs with a “pot belly” is one of the signs of being infected with ROUNDWORMS. I quickly called my cousin and told him, he took the dog to the vet and INDEED, poor old Buster was infected. The vet recommended some meds but we found Worm Protector 2x Double Strength (8 fl oz) and we got that for a fraction of what the vets were charging. Buster is okay now. I just wanted to warn everyone and advise people to make sure their pets are adequately protected. The roundworms could of been easily transmitted to humans just be stepping in their poop, or soil that has been infected! More than 90% of puppies are born with roundworms or acquire them shortly after birth from their mother. Your pets can easily get infected because roundworms eggs are resilent and can survive in areas such as parks, playgrounds and yards.
Some signs that you should watch for is:

  • Diarrhea
  • Malnutrition
  • Respiratory Distress
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weekness
  • Weight loss
  • Dull or scruffy fur
  • Swollen abdomen (”pot belly”)
  • Eggs and adult worms visible in feces

Does your cat get bored playing with their same old toys? Does he or she seem out of energy? Do you want to bring a smile to your pet’s face? Then I have just the toy for you, it’s Kitty-Go-Krazy! This toy is super cool and totally fun to play with. Kitty-Go-Krazy (by Panic Mouse) is actually three toys in one; it comes with a talking ball, jingle ball, and detachable pom-pom spring wand. As soon as I set the toy up and turned it on my cat was all over the place! It was like he suddenly had a burst of energy and couldn’t help but to play. One of my favorite things about the toy was how the toy had a 360 degree rotation and an adjustable speed button. This cat toy is very durable and will make any cat jumping for joy. This is the ultimate cat toy!

I’ve always been cautious about buying pet meds online because I don’t know where they come from. My vet has always warned me to not buy pet medications from online sources. The problem was, I just couldn’t afford paying vet prices for Pet meds like Heartgard or Rimadyl. So I decided to take a chance and order online.

There are a lot of sites out there to choose from. 800petmeds was the same price as my vet. Same with petcarerx. They were just way too expensive. Having 3 dogs and 1 cat, buying pet medicine for all my pets can really add up! I found www.entirelypets.com to be the best pricing on the net but was still unsure about the products. I investigated further and found that all their pet medicines are FDA and EPA approved. This means that the products have undergone regulation and approved for sale in the US, and is safe and effective for my pet.

So I placed the order online, provided my vet’s information for the prescription and they took care of the rest! Theyeven contacted my vet (who wasn’t too thrilled about me buying online), and obtained a faxed prescription from them. Received my pet medications in just a few days and saved over $40 for the exact same pet meds I would have gotten from my vet!

Vets sure do charge an arm and a leg!
